I have just read a terrific Canadian analysis of the current military situation in Ukraine, focused on the current spate of Russian missile strikes on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure and their implications for the status of the conflict.
I would encourage readers to go to free-lance journalist Justin’s Ling’s substack newsletter, “Bug-Eyed and Shameless.” You can find it at:

Justin Ling also did important reporting, often for the Guardian newspaper, on Freedom Convoy events. He was the first to discuss threat reporting from the Integrated Terrorism Assessment Centre, based on leaked documents. We will hear more about ITAC and its role during testimony early next week to the Public Order Emergency Commission. He also investigated the nastier underside of extremist groups associated with the Freedom Convoy protests.
We need more top quality, made-in-Canada analysis of developments in Ukraine. Canadian support to Ukraine includes money to assist it in developing intelligence capabilities, which can, importantly for the current stage of the conflict, include intelligence assets to support air defence systems, including real-time missile launch tracking of Russian strikes. There is little direct military hardware we can supply to Ukraine for air defence purposes, as we (scandalously) lack such systems in our own military inventory, but every bit of intelligence help we can provide, even if it is only a budgetary contribution to the Ukrainian military, is well worth it.
I urge you to explore Justin’s newsletter and help support his reporting and analysis.
