Yes, the Republicans hold the Presidential office until 2028, but if the Republicans get hammered in the mid-terms I think Trump is gone. and even if he survives the mid-terms he is obviously not in good health and won't be around for 2028.
How do you see this Iran situation ending? I'm thinking three paths:
1) It just drags on, Strait open a bit, closed a bit, bombs/drones/missiles on a sort of sine wave of violence
2) Diplomacy to rein in Iran, but that would require real diplomats (not the grift brothers Kushner & Witkoff) perhaps from the EU
3) Full on invasion and a war of conquest
My opinion is that 1) is most likely, with 2) to follow starting in 2029. I would hope 3) is a non-starter, but there has already been so much stupidity on display that I can't be sure. I'd welcome your thoughts.
