Thanks for blowing the whistle on Coyne. It's tiresome seeing Coyne go into high dudgeon on a regular basis on the Chinese security issue when he's so blasé about other topics, such as the climate catastrophe or Conservative policies that will lead to more illicit-overdose deaths. Why doesn't he just become a Conservative candidate and join his ideological soulmate Michael Chong in caucus?
Fantastic read that highlights the new norm among online journalism and general populations. The public are growing more weary of the 'attention grabbing' tactics of the media profession and all those that steer them to the chaos theory. Thanks for your own efforts and assessment here.
I am sorry, but I don't have a link that I could provide to the documents tabled in Parliament. My copy was provided to me by a journalist colleague on the day of the release. I am sure the link is out there somewhere--if anyone has it, please let us know.
Thank you for your ongoing calm, evidence-based analysis of complex security issues.
Do you think it likely that CSIS simply followed US Intel in this case (as in so many others)?
Given the heightened fears of Wuhan during Covid, and American research collaboration with Chinese scientists, it looks like our Winnipeg lab star may have been jettisoned by pandemic politics.
Nobody is telling the public that, for some time now, Western virus labs have been deliberately collaborating with Chinese labs in an effort towards higher competence and greater security, i.e., prevention of accidents and/or weaponization. Countless Chinese researchers work in US labs.
This Wpg lab saga sounds like just another case of Canada playing at the fringe of a much bigger context.
Canadians rarely hear about the larger context. Certainly we never hear about context from the likes of Coyne.
Thank you Mr. Wark for your short, but to the point, explanation about the security culture in government. Coyne, like most journalists with no real security background, was keen to blame the Liberal government. The main problem behind security incidents is more often than not, caused by lax security practices, even in agencies like RCMP (Cameron Ortis), DND (Delisle) and others I have witnessed over my career in national security.
Sunlight is the best disinfectant, therefore the government should come clean. However, this administration would rather not have its relationship with the CCP viewed too closely. I find it quite interesting that so much of the MSM has gone to such lengths to discredit any suggestion that the virus that came from China could not have originated as a "leak" from a lab. Why would there so much hostility to that theory? China is a totalitarian state which in no way, shape or form would ever agree to an independent investigation by an outside agency. IMHO, Canadians should be far more sceptical of what they are being told.

Too many in the media want to protect Trudeau and the Liberals from their deep connections to the Chinese government.
This article is below the standard I've come to expect from you.
re: 623 page document "Read and be my guest."
I'd love to, but perhaps due to my inadequate search ability, can't find it.
Perhaps a link could have been provided.
Sorry, but until I see the documents, I view your article (vs Coyne) as just another he said/she said.
Did I read yesterday that one of the individuals in question is now back working in China?
Excellent analysis of a deeply flawed article. Thank you for your good work.
