The Canso spaceport has been kicking around for years. Until this announcement, it looked like a boondoggle. Check out the coverage of the Halifax Examiner.
This spaceport is actually on the mainland before you get to Canso. Is this the secret of Nova Scotia labour, Capers who want to build rockets and spaceships? I'm 1/2 Caper, my mum was born in Sydney Mines. I just keep thinking it's a bit wacky having the thing there. My dad told me next time I'm home, he would take me up to the build site. I would have called it something in Gaelic, So you get the Scots thing in and all that.
Ahem… Magellan has loaned the Manitoba Museum a real Black Brant 5C rocket, and it was delivered and installed in the Science Gallery on February 4, 2013. 🙂

And we'll all just ignore the Kessler effect.

Black Brant is a sounding rocket, not a missile. Magellan continues to manufacture Black Brant rockets

Fascinating. Thank you. And I'm glad to learn more about Canada's past space launches.
