The mediocrity of the top level bureaucrats in of government is breathtaking. I note Ms Thomas' reactions are to threaten the "leakers" with dire consequences when they are identified, as opposed to admitting her incompetence. Much of the backside covering we are now witnessing is an indication that the whole matter of PROC interference is not considered a big deal by the Liberals. One has only to review the vindictive and heavy handed legal responses the feds used against the "leaders" of the Freedom Convoy. and compare them to the inactions in response to election meddling allegations (a far more serious matter IMHO). I would also add that any type of intelligence is useless unless it is properly interpreted. It appears obvious that the people at the top who were receiving these reports either didn't understand them, or failed to take them seriously, (or most likely both). This country's professionalism when it comes to matters of this nature has been seriously diminished.
Seriously diminished? More like never existed. BUT, we now have an opportunity, if we can avoid framing it as a partisan issue. Is there any reason to expect any of the other parties to have done any better with it? We ge the politics we’re willing to accept.
